Reservations

Our reservation service enables you to reserve a book if all copies are out on loan. You can reserve books through the Library Catalogue.

When reserving an item, take note of the collection site details as it will be your responsibility to collect the book from its home site.

We will send an email alert to your University email address when the reserved item is ready for you to collect. We will then hold the item for you for 1 week.

You can collect your reserved item from the click & collect reservations shelves near the self-service units. You will find your item filed by the first 3 letters of your surname, then the last 4 digits of your library borrower number, followed by your first initial.

Unable to reserve an item?

If you cannot make your reservation online, please complete a reservation card at the Help Zone. We are unable to accept reservation requests by telephone.

Journals: as they are for reference use only, you cannot request a journal to be brought from 1 library to the other. The exceptions to this are journals and newspapers held in the Library Store.

Library Store: to request journals and newspapers held in our closed access Library Store, please fill in a store request form at the Help Zone.

Allow 2 to 3 working days for items to be brought from the Store. We will send an alert to your University email address when it's ready to collect.

As newspapers and journals cannot go out on loan, your Store item will need to be used in the library and returned to the Help Zone when you have finished with it.
