Financing your study

Fees and funding

The costs associated with postgraduate study are different to those at undergraduate level, as is the funding available.

We understand that postgraduate study of any kind is a big financial commitment and at BU we aim to provide you with effective support and advice.

There are now more reasons that ever to study a Master's level qualification with the government postgraduate loan scheme available for eligible UK/EU students. We've also got a range of non-repayable scholarships.

Discounts

If you’re a BU graduate – or a member of your family works, is currently studying at or is a graduate of BU – you may be eligible for a fee discount of up to 25% off your postgraduate tuition fee.

Funding eligibility for EU students

EU students studying a Master's degree in 2018/19 and 2019/20 may be eligible for some funding. The UK government is providing up to £10,609 in postgraduate loans for 2018/19 entry.

If eligible, you would receive the first payment after your course start date, once we confirm that you have registered. Each year's amount will be paid in three instalments of 33%, 33% and 34%. The instalments will be paid directly to you at the beginning of each term.

You can find more information on the gov.uk website.
