Saturday 8 July – Festival for the Family
Venue: Talbot Campus
The festival kicks off with our ever-popular Festival for the Family. Everyone from toddlers to teenagers, parents and grandparents can take part as we transform our campus into a hub of activity, exploration and discovery.
Highlights will include accessible 3D modelling and 3D printing and Extinction Quest – a chance to seek out endangered species, including dinosaurs, across our campus. There will also be kids’ sports camps, family coaching with AFC Bournemouth, and a range of sporting activities for adults.
Guest speaker Anna McNuff
This year we’re pleased to welcome inspirational guest speaker Anna McNuff – endurance athlete, adventurer and mischief maker. Book early to make sure the whole family gets to hear Anna’s tales of adventure, and find out why our individual passions should be embraced and explored.

Sunday 9 July – Festival on the Quay
Venue: Poole Quay
Take a stroll along Poole Quay and visit the Festival of Learning tent. We’ve got activities for all the family, including exhibitions and learning experiences covering everything from healthy eating to DNA and the visual past of Dorset.
You’ll find us opposite the Lord Baden-Powell statue and next to the ferry departure point for Brownsea Island. Please check online for the new location if the weather’s looking poor.
Away from the quay, archaeology lovers can join us at The Big Dig: Digging deeper in Dorset – Durotriges open day. You can also enjoy some nature-based fun activities in Bournemouth at Life by the river: A healthier future.
Monday 10 to Wednesday 12 July – events around our campuses
Venue: Talbot and Lansdowne Campuses
The festival will continue into the week with an array of day and evening events. Interact with staff and students in a wide variety of contexts and take advantage of the range of facilities available on our campuses. You’ll get the chance to enjoy everything from sports sessions to theatrical performances, lectures and professional workshops.
