The Festival of Learning is back, bringing learning to life with free events and activities from Saturday 16 - Wednesday 20 June 2018.
The festival is a celebration of learning and research at Bournemouth University and is an opportunity to showcase and share our knowledge and expertise with a wide and varied audience.
Saturday 16 June - Festival for the Family
The festival will open on Saturday 16 June with our Festival for the Family; a full day of events on our Talbot campus, encouraging the exploration of BU research through drop-in activities, interactive sessions, talks and lectures.
Biological anthropologist and presenter Professor Alice Roberts will also be giving two talks. She'll be uncovering the amazing history of familiar species with wild pasts - and exploring how they've changed our world - in two talks, suitable for ages 7+.
Sunday 17 June - off-campus events
On Sunday, we will take BU research out into the community hosting a small number of off-campus events across the region.
These include a roving play at Upton Country Park, and a talk about why sharks and whales play a vital role in the fight against climate change, followed by a screening of the Plastic Oceans film. You can also find out what makes an exceptional athlete at AFC Bournemouth's Vitality Stadium, and explore BU's state-of-the-art Orthopaedic Research Institute.
Monday 18 - Wednesday 20 June
The Festival continues on Monday through to Wednesday, at our Talbot campus, with a variety of interactive sessions and talks during the afternoons and evenings.
Science showman Ian B Dunne will close the festival with his Magic Science…Science Magic show, with two performances sure to leave the whole family in stitches.
