After graduating from BA (Hons) Radio Production in 2017, Alex joined international podcast company, Somethin' Else, where he worked on The Economist audio edition.

He went on to operate as a freelancer, working for the BBC in Southampton before being recruited as a full-time Assistant Producer on BBC Radio Solent’s breakfast show. Alex left the BBC in 2019 to launch his own production company, Audio Coast. After a short stint with Warner Brothers to build its podcast department, he has returned to Audio Coast where he now produces podcasts for clients including Hello! Magazine and Country & Town House, alongside working with Kindling Media to produce their Secret Leaders podcast.

Alex says: “My degree provided me with the knowledge to feel confident working in the industry right after graduating and gave me connections into the industry I value to this day.”

What their colleagues say

Alex first came to my team as a broadcast assistant, with limited responsibilities, but it quickly became clear his broadcast and technical talents extended way beyond that role. Alex was a crucial and valued member of what was a fast-moving, time-pressured team, delivering live radio daily. Alex’s knowledge of technology was invaluable to certain programme elements, way better than mine in fact. He excelled at script writing, on-air presentation, and reporting."
