The accommodation booking process starts shortly after you accept our offer as your firm choice. You will then receive an email from us when you are eligible to complete the two stage accommodation booking process (details below). Timings for accessing the accommodation booking portal can be found on our dates and details page.
Make sure ‘bournemouth.ac.uk’ is in your safe senders list so our email doesn’t end up in your junk folder.
Stage 1 – registering your interest in BU accommodation
At stage 1, you need to register your interest by creating an account on the portal. Enter your student ID number and select ‘Forgot password’ on your first visit to do this.
Once you’ve logged in with your new password, you’ll just need to confirm the personal details you entered in your course application, and provide a few additional bits of information.
Please keep hold of your login details as you’ll need these again at stage 2.
After you’ve completed stage 1, you need to wait until your offer changes to unconditional firm (UF). Once that happens, we’ll email you with a timeslot in which to complete stage 2.
Please note: you cannot start stage 2 without completing stage 1, and you will not be able to book accommodation until your offer has changed to UF.
Stage 2 – booking your accommodation
At stage 2, you can log in to the portal to choose where you’ll be living and book your accommodation.
At this point, you can complete your personal profile. This is a great opportunity to tell potential cohabitees a bit more about yourself. It can also be a chance to see who you might be living with.
When you book, you’ll need to pay a deposit, a booking fee, and in some cases advanced rent to secure your accommodation. This usually has to be paid within 7 to 14 days of making your booking, so please make sure you have sufficient funds available. See our accommodation price guide (pdf 117kb) and visit our payment information page for more details.
For a full outline of the dates on which to complete stage 2 – including what happens when you apply through UCAS Extra, late or Clearing – visit our undergraduate and postgraduate dates and details pages.
