We want our graduates, employees and the region’s businesses to shine, thrive and stand out in the global economy. We believe our staff, students and alumni enrich our region with their global talent.
We are bold about our ability and ambition to develop all our people as outward-looking and forward-thinking. We have an enviable track record at BU of graduate destinations, but want to be even better.
All our students experience our commitment to their development and employability during their studies with us. This is achieved through a fantastic student experience, including our cutting-edge Global Talent Programme (GTP). This programme is a key expression of our commitment to the Fusion of education and research to ensure our students become graduates who are universally employable… and globally employed.
Get involved with Global Talent Programme
All BU students can sign up for the Global Talent Programme – which has been created in collaboration with employers to identify and develop students to succeed as graduates in today's (and tomorrow's) highly competitive global workplace.
If you are a student and would like to join the Global Talent Programme, find out more on our student page. If you have already joined the Global Talent Programme, you can find further information and resources about the programme on the GTP portal.
If you are a member of staff and would like to get involved, find out more on our staff page.
If you are a school, FE or HE institution, or business interested in collaborating with us, we want to hear from you. Email us at GlobalBU@bournemouth.ac.uk or call us on 01202 966672.
Developing Global Talent
The Global Talent Programme began as a Higher Education Academy funded programme which we designed and developed in partnership with staff, students and employers to nurture and develop talent across the BU community. It does this by placing staff and students at the centre of its work. The programme was piloted with around 200 students and over 50% of the sessions were delivered in partnership with global academics and employers.
Here’s what students who participated in the pilot said:
The Global Talent Programme was an eye-opener for many global issues.”
It has really inspired me to think in a global context.”
Thanks for the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the field and to become global talent.”
The programme gave us a real global challenge to come up with…”
For the 2016-17 academic year we are rolling this programme out to all undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Later this year, we will also be launching programme variants tailored for youth talent (14-18-year-olds in schools), for academic staff (at BU and partner institutions), and for executives and businesses.
