Real-world experience

#MyPlacementStory - BU students share their experiences on placement as a part of their course. Watch Micah and Charles' story above.

We believe that university should prepare you for the world of work as well as enhancing your academic qualifications, which is why we offer placements to 100% of our undergraduate students.

Although some courses feature mandatory placements, the option to undertake a placement as part of your degree is open to every student. 90% of our graduates (source: graduate-jobs.com) have relevant work experience - more than any other university in the country - and this can give you a real head start in the competitive jobs market.

We have links with hundreds of companies across a range of industries, in the UK and abroad. To find out more about where you may go on a placement, take a look at the relevant course pages to see which organisations we work with.

Students on health and social care courses will be placed at various NHS hospitals and medical centres throughout the south west.

Life on placement at UKTV

My search for a placement was a long one. I spent a huge amount of time applying for jobs and went through six different interviews. Luckily, in March 2013, UKTV popped up and I was provided with the opportunity to carry out my 12 month placement in their Communications team.
