Responding to your undergraduate offer

This page explains in detail the process you will need to follow once you receive an offer for one of our undergraduate courses. This process will vary according to your fee status – European or non-European – and the type of offer you receive, Conditional or Unconditional. Here you will find out information about:

European Conditional Offer holders

The information below applies to all European students applying for an undergraduate course and currently holding a Conditional Offer.

Meeting the conditions of your offer

The electronic offer sent to you via email or UCAS highlights the conditions you have to meet in order to be accepted on your course. Please refer to the letter or check your account on myHub and make sure you let us know as soon as you have met the conditions by emailing internationaladmissions@bournemouth.ac.uk. Always add your 7-digit student reference number to the subject line of your email.

Accessing your account on myHub

myHub is the BU applicant portal. This is where all the details about you and your application are kept and updated. Check your account to see the progress of your application and communicate with the International Admissions Team.

The login details to your myHub account are sent to you via email soon after your application has been received. If you can't remember your login details, please contact our Students Record Team on srt@bournemouth.ac.uk. Always add your 7-digit student reference number to the subject line of your email.

Accepting your offer

In order to accept your offer and secure your place on your course you must firmly accept your offer on UCAS (or on myHub, if you applied direct to BU).

Deadlines to accept your offer

The deadline to accept your offer will depend on when you receive all the decisions from the universities you applied for. Most students will fall in one of the categories below:

  • If you receive all your universities decisions by 31 March 2018, you must reply to any offers by 2 May 2018, or they'll be declined
  • If you receive all your universities decisions by 3 May 2018, you must reply to any offers by 7 June 2018, or they’ll be declined
  • If you receive all your universities decisions by 7 June 2018, you must reply to any offers by 21 June 2018, or they’ll be declined
  • For exceptions to the above, offers received after 7 June 2018 and other categories, please visit the UCAS website.

It is important to know that you won’t be able to confirm your accommodation with BU until your offer is unconditional and you have accepted it. The accommodation booking process starts in June 2018. We advise you to book accommodation as early as possible in order to improve your chances of selecting the room that best suits your needs.

Upload all the requested documents

After you meet the conditions of your offer and accept it the next step is making sure you clear all the pending actions on your account in myHub. This could be:

  • Legible copy of a valid passport
  • Copy of your final certificate (original and/or translation)
  • Copy of your final transcripts (original and/or translation)
  • Copy of IELTS certificate, or equivalent English language qualification (if applicable)
  • Academic and/or professional references
  • Personal statement.

A list of pending actions can be seen in your electronic offer letter received via email.

European Unconditional Offer holders

The information below applies to all European students applying for an undergraduate course and currently holding an Unconditional Offer.

Accepting your offer

CAS and Tier 4 (General) Student Visa application

The Confirmaition of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) is a document you will need in order to apply for your Tier (General) 4 Student Visa. We will start to issue CAS from June 2018, so you should make sure you firmly accept your offer  by this date, or as soon as your offer becomes Unconditional,  to ensure we can issue your CAS without any delays.

The next step is making sure you are ready to receive your CAS, by clearing all the “pending actions” on your account in myHub. This could be:

  • Legible copy of a valid passport
  • Copy of your final certificate (original and/or translation)
  • Copy of your final transcripts (original and/or translation)
  • Copy of IELTS certificate, or equivalent English language qualification (if applicable)
  • Academic and/or professional references
  • Personal statement
  • Confirmation of any previous UK study
  • Copies of any previous UK visas.

Non-European Unconditional Offer holders

The information below applies to all Non-European students applying for an undergraduate course and currently holding an Unconditional Offer.
