Responding to your postgraduate offer

This page explains in detail the process you will need to follow once you receive an offer for one of our postgraduate courses. This process will vary according to your fee status – whether you are European or non-European; the type of offer you receive – Conditional or Unconditional; and your start date – January 2018 or September 2018. Meeting the conditions of your offer

The electronic offer letter sent to you via email highlights the conditions you have to meet in order to be accepted on your course. Please refer to the letter or check your account on myHub and make sure you let us know as soon as you have met the conditions by emailing internationaladmissions@bournemouth.ac.uk. Always add your 7-digit student reference number to the subject line of your email.

myHub is the BU applicant portal. This is where all the details about you and your application are kept and updated. Check your account to see the progress of your application and communicate with the International Admissions Team.

The login details to your myHub account are sent to you via email soon after your application has been received. If you cannot remember your login details, contact our Students Record Team on srt@bournemouth.ac.uk. Always add your 7-digit student reference number to the subject line of your email.

Accepting your offer

In order to accept your offer and secure your place on the course you must login to your account on myHub and firmly accept your offer.

Deadlines to accept your offer

The deadline to accept your offer will depend on when you receive your offer from Bournemouth University:

  • If you receive your offer by 15 October 2017, the deadline to accept the offer is 1 November 2017, or your place on the course might not be guaranteed
  • If you receive your offer from 16 October 2017, the deadline to accept the offer is always two weeks after the offer has been made, or your place on the course might not be guaranteed.

Please note that if you are unable to accept your offer by the standard deadlines you can request a deadline extension by emailing internationaladmissions@bournemouth.ac.uk. Always add your 7-digit student reference number to the subject line of your email.

It is important to know that you won’t be able to confirm your accommodation with BU until your offer is Unconditional and you have accepted it. The accommodation booking process starts in November 2016. We advise you to book accommodation as early as possible in order to improve your chances of selecting the room that best suits your needs.

  • Legible copy of a valid passport
  • Copy of your final certificate (original and/or translation)
  • Copy of your final transcripts (original and/or translation)
  • Copy of IELTS certificate, or equivalent English language qualifications (if applicable)
  • Academic and/or professional references
  • Personal statement

European Unconditional Offer holders: January 2018

The information below applies to all European students applying for Master’s courses and currently holding an Unconditional Offer for January 2018.

Accepting your offer

In order to accept your offer and secure your place on the course you must login to your account on myHub and firmly accept your offer.

The Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) is a document you will need in order to apply for your Tier (General) 4 Student Visa. We will start to issue CAS from 24 October 2017, so you should make sure you firmly accept your offer and pay your deposit by this date, or as soon as your offer is Unconditional, to ensure we can issue your CAS without any delays.

The next step is making sure you are ready to receive your CAS, by clearing all the pending actions on your account in myHub. This could be:

  • Legible copy of a valid passport
  • Copy of your final certificate (original and/or translation)
  • Copy of your final transcripts (original and/or translation)
  • Copy of IELTS certificate, or equivalent English language qualification (if applicable)
  • Academic and/or professional references
  • Personal statement
  • Confirmation of any previous UK study
  • Copy of any previous UK visas.
