Daniele Quattromini, BA (Hons) Hospitality Management, general manager CH&Co
Daniele came to BU to learn more about an industry he was passionate about and which ran in the family.
My grandparents were in the restaurant business and I can remember having a passion for food and restaurants from a very early age. I chose BU because it was number one for my course.
I came to BU to improve my knowledge of the industry, but also to grow as a person and make new friends and contacts who would benefit my career.
I went to Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons on my placement and this was one of the most important years of my career. It set a new bar for me and was the place where I truly learned the importance of teamwork and standards.
I never thought I’d work somewhere like CH&Co, a contract catering firm, but I’ve learned a lot. I was headhunted for my current role and it’s been a brilliant and valuable experience. I’ve been here over two years and to see where I’ve taken the business from is extremely satisfying.
The thing I enjoy most in my job is working with my team. They are the people I see every day and who help achieve my ambitions for the business. This wouldn’t be possible without them.
The advice I’d give other graduates is not to be scared to try something new, and to be patient. Getting your first solid job offer is always a great achievement, but do your research and get all of your cards on the table before you make a decision.
