Okeford House is designed to provide peaceful accommodation for postgraduate students, with just under 100 residents in total. It is located just a short distance from Winton high street, which is home to a number of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, while there is a Waitrose and Lidl nearby.
The university bus (U3) picks up and drops off in Winton, providing you with an easy and quick way to reach our Talbot Campus.
There are six-bed cluster flats and studio flats within Okeford House. The cluster flats all have a shared kitchen and living area, with sofas, a table, chairs, plenty of kitchen storage and all the appliances (cooker, fridge, freezer and microwave) you’ll need. The studio flats have a self-contained kitchen area, as well as a living area.
All the bedrooms are ensuite and come fitted with a single bed, desk, shelving and wardrobe as standard. There's also a card operated laundry room that's open 24 hours a day (with an online top up card), as well as a lovely outdoor courtyard that's a real suntrap in the summer.
The Campus Living Villages (CLV) team visit Okeford House Monday - Friday and the reception is staffed on a part-time basis to assist students with any esquires they may have. There is also an email address that is constantly monitored, so you can always contact someone if you have any issues.
The building is monitored by CCTV and there is secure entry with a key fob for the main doors, as well as individual locks on the flat and bedroom doors.
As Okeford House is managed by CLV, your contract will be with this company rather than the university.
Campus Living Villages (CLV) run Chesil House in partnership with BU, so your contract will be with them rather than the university. CLV also has an online shop where you can buy essential items - such as kitchen equipment and bedding - before you arrive.
