Lyme Regis House

Lyme Regis House is a lively accommodation block that’s home to around 400 students, predominantly those studying at undergraduate level. It’s located in the heart of our Lansdowne Campus, within easy walk of Bournemouth town centre, the beach and the main train station. The university bus (U1) picks up and drops off just outside.

You’re also close to a Tesco Express, a large ASDA, numerous cafes, takeaways and restaurants, and the Students’ Union-run Old Fire Station.

Lyme Regis House is mainly comprised of five-bed cluster flats, each with a shared kitchen and living area. The communal area is equipped with comfy seats, a table, kitchen storage cupboards and all the appliances (cooker, fridge, freezer and microwave) you’ll need. There are a small number of postgraduate studio flats within the block as well, and each of these is a self-contained unit with its own kitchen and living space.

All of the rooms are ensuite and come with a single bed, desk, shelving, wardrobe and bedside table as standard.

There is a spacious common room that is open to all students. There are a number of comfy sofas, two large seating booths, three table-mounted iPads, a bookable meeting room, a TV corner and even a bookable kitchen where larger groups of students can cook together. There is also a card-operated laundry room that you can access 24 hours a day.

There is someone at reception 24 hours a day, as well as onsite security, while the whole building is monitored by CCTV. The staff here do their best to make everyone feel welcome and get involved with the community by hosting events such as pancake and movie nights.

CLV runs Lyme Regis House in partnership with BU, so your contract will be with this company rather than the university. CLV operates the V Plus scheme that gives residents the chance to go on various outings at reduced costs. CLV also has an online shop where you can buy essential items - such as kitchen equipment and bedding - before you arrive.
