If you disclose a condition that significantly impacts upon your living arrangements, would like to live in BU accommodation and are otherwise eligible under the standard BU accommodation guarantee we will endeavour to allocate you to suitable accommodation. As part of your initial registration for accommodation you will need to let us know about your condition through being registered with the university’s ALS team. This will include supplying the ALS team with evidence of your condition and letting us know how this impacts on your living arrangements. An assessment of your needs can then be made to determine if suitable accommodation is required, available and/or reasonable adjustments can be made before your arrival. Due to a limited supply of accommodation BU is unable to guarantee that a suitable room will be available. In this instance BU will make reasonable endeavours to assist you secure suitable accommodation in the private sector.

If you fall outside of the standard BU accommodation guarantee but have a condition that may significantly impact upon your living arrangements, you should contact the Residential Services team to discuss your options.
