The Student Village is a small housing estate located on the edge of Talbot Campus. It’s a very peaceful location with plenty of green space. As well as being within walking distance of the university facilities, it is easy to reach our Lansdowne Campus and the centre of Bournemouth on the university bus service (U1 and U4).

The houses in the Student Village have three, four, five or seven bedrooms and are split over two or three floors. Every house has a communal kitchen and living area, equipped with comfy seats, as well as plenty of storage space, and all the appliances (cooker, fridge, freezer and microwave) you’ll need. These houses have shared bathrooms, and every room has its own basin.

Each bedroom is also fitted with a single bed, cupboards, wardrobe and desk. The design and layout of these houses means that each of the bedrooms can vary in shape from house to house.

The value rooms will be of a similar specification to the standard option, but are usually a bit smaller or an irregular shape.

A number of self-contained studio flats are also available for postgraduate students, which have a small kitchenette, ensuite bathroom, desk, single bed, wardrobe and shelving. Within the postgraduate block, there is a common room with tables and chairs to give you somewhere else to study.

There are two two-bedroom bungalows which are only available to families and can be rented for the full length of your course. These are already booked for September 2018.

When you want to relax or catch-up with friends then there are two common rooms. One is dedicated to post-graduates and the other for under-graduates.

There is a coin-operated laundry room, located next to the Student Village Office, where you can find members of staff who are on hand to provide you with advice and assistance should you need it. This office is open from 10.45 am to 2.45 pm Tuesday to Friday and members of the team are available on the Student Village email on Mondays. There is a security team onsite overnight and on weekends, who you can contact on a dedicated mobile number. There’s also a secure bike enclosure on the Student Village.

The Student Village is managed and operated by BU, so your contract will be with the university.
