We’re committed to making sure you settle in as quickly as possible and get the very most from your time at BU. That includes helping you find the right place to live and enjoy life during your studies.

If you choose Bournemouth as your first choice, you will receive emails inviting you to begin the accommodation process within a week of your offer becoming firm.
Stage 1 emails will be sent out in batches, as there is no disadvantage to having the email later in the week please do not get concerned if you do not hear anything immediately.
The first release of Stage 2, where you will book your accommodation, will open on 12 June. An email will be sent before that date to those students who are Unconditional Firm (UF) and have completed Stage 1. Those who become UF later will go into a release in July or August and you will have an equal chance of booking accommodation whichever release you are given.

Chesil House is a relatively small accommodation block - home to just over 200 students - on our Lansdowne Campus. There is a mix of undergraduate and postgraduate residents, making it a reasonably quiet and relaxed place to live.

Corfe House is one of the smaller accommodation blocks, home to around 300 students. It is located just a short distance from Poole Harbour - the flats on the upper floors have stunning views - and within walking distance of the centre of Poole, the train and coach station and a bus stop where you can jump on the U2 bus to reach both our campuses.

Cranborne House is one of the lively accommodation blocks located on the Lansdowne Campus, home to around 500 undergraduate students. It is within walking distance of all our buildings on Lansdowne Campus, as well as the centre of Bournemouth and the Student Union-run nightclub The Old Fire Station.

Dorchester House is a vibrant accommodation block that’s home to 590 students, the majority of whom are undergraduates in their first year, although there are 60 postgraduate studio flats. It’s within walking distance of our Lansdowne Campus, as well as being close to Bournemouth town centre and opposite the main train station.

Home Park offers contemporary purpose built student accommodation for Bournemouth University students with a variety of en-suite rooms and studios as well as an on-site laundry complete with washers and dryers. Your new home will put you in the centre of it all; access to local shops, minutes away from the train station, 10 minutes’ walk to the town centre and seafront.

This brand new accommodation for 2015 in the heart of our Lansdowne Campus is our only catered hall of residence. It’s within easy walking distance of Bournemouth town centre and the main train station, and is packed with excellent facilities for relaxing, studying and enjoying life in Bournemouth.

Lyme Regis House is a lively accommodation block that’s home to around 400 students, predominantly those studying at undergraduate level. It’s located in the heart of our Lansdowne Campus, within easy walk of Bournemouth town centre, the beach and the main train station.

Okeford House is designed to provide peaceful accommodation for postgraduate students, with just under 100 residents in total. It is located just a short distance from Winton high street, which is home to a number of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, while there is a Waitrose and Lidl nearby.

Purbeck house is a friendly and lively accommodation block that’s home to more than 500 undergraduate students. It’s situated in the centre of our Lansdowne Campus, within easy reach of all of our buildings, as well as the train station, the centre of Bournemouth and the beach.

The Student Village is a small housing estate located on the edge of Talbot Campus. It’s a very peaceful location with plenty of green space. As well as being within walking distance of the university facilities, it is easy to reach our Lansdowne Campus and the centre of Bournemouth on the university bus service (U1 and U4).

Unilet properties are typically four to six bedroom houses that are fully furnished and you can rent a room in the same way you would in a purpose-built hall of residence. Although they are privately owned, they are all managed by BU, allowing us to ensure consistent standards.
