Nurture your talents

Studying with us

Dynamic learning and industry-focused experience that build work-ready skills are central to your postgraduate study experience.

Our taught postgraduate courses involve lectures, seminars, self-study and research – typically with around 20 hours of self-study each week – and are made up of units assessed through a mix of coursework, presentations and exams.

Research exposure

Pioneering research is central to BU, meaning you’ll be exposed to the latest thinking and leading practice – 96% of our research was rated as internationally recognised by the Research Excellence Framework (REF). And our research has real influence – more than 70% of our research impact was deemed outstanding or very considerable by REF.

By joining our postgraduate community, you’ll gain opportunities to contribute to research projects making a real difference to the world. And, by collaborating with students and staff across different disciplines, you’ll build networks, share knowledge and broaden your thinking.

Enhanced employability

As well as expanding your academic interests, postgraduate study enhances your career prospects. Employers value the skills developed through our courses, such as knowledge of research methods, collaboration, independent thinking and communication.

On top of this, our Global Talent Programme empowers all our students to combine academic excellence with a portfolio of future-proof skills and business and community experience – opening up career opportunities around the world.
