Bournemouth University welcomes visitors to its campuses and offers a range of services to individuals or groups wanting to visit and find out more about life as a student here. The best way to see the campus is to join one of our open days but if that's not possible for you then you can still contact the International Team to arrange a visit. We can provide:
Tours of the BU campuses
The BU campuses are open to visitors and your options range from a self-guided tour leaflet, available from the reception desk, to a guided tour with a member of the International Team or one of our Student Ambassadors.
Subject insight sessions with academic staff
If you would like to bring a group of students to BU and gain a better insight into how our courses work and what you can expect from them, we can arrange for you to have a sample session with one of our academic staff. This can include a tour of the campus and an opportunity to talk to our Student Ambassadors about their experience of studying at BU.
Taster days in particular subjects
Still want more? By special arrangement you can spend a day living the life of a BU student, sitting in on lectures, meeting with BU staff and students, as well as enjoying BU’s coffee shops and restaurants and experiencing campus life.
Information seminars
Alternatively, if you are a language school, international college or other education provider with students interested in studying with us then BU can come to you. The International Team can provide information seminars about BU, study life in the UK, our academic subjects (in conjunction with academic staff) or just higher education in the UK generally.
Access to BU’s library resources
BU offers access to its Library and Learning Centre facilities to anyone in the local area who wishes to make use of them. Reference-only access to our printed resources is free of charge and the libraries are open to visitors during their regular opening hours. You can also register for full library borrowing rights for an annual fee. Please note that BU’s online and digital library resources are only available to BU students and staff.
Advice and guidance on admissions and immigration processes
If you would like more specific advice about becoming a BU student, or how to obtain your visa to study with us, you can contact us. The International Team is happy to meet with students to discuss the admissions process, and our International Student Support Team (part of the AskBU Student Services Team) can provide advice and information workshops on successfully completing the visa application process, for students who have applied to study at BU.
