Bournemouth is full of restaurants and bars where you can go for a lovely evening meal with your new housemates (a great way to get to know each other) or get the folks to treat you when they pay you a visit.
For those of you who love a little spicy Mexican this will be right up your street. From the burritos to the nachos there isn’t anything that isn’t delicious. It’s in the centre of town and the only place where you can draw pictures on your place mat – and get them displayed on the wall of fame.
The Slug & Lettuce
A slightly more sophisticated version of Weatherspoons (which, by the way, does a great breakfast). With 2 for 1 cocktails, you can get the gang together, get a couple of pitchers, split the price and have a good night out for all of £30 max!
If your parents want to treat you or you want to take someone on a special date, this is the place. It’s a little more on the pricey side, but the Italian a la carte menu and the authenticity of the place are spot on.
This place has Caribbean food down to a T. It's located under the Citrus building which is a short walk from Chesil House – so perfect for those of you who are new to town. They also do excellent cocktails.
There’s a lot of independent restaurants in Bournemouth and it's worth trying some of them out. Try Urban Reef on Boscombe seafront – they also do takeaway wood fired pizzas – all with locally sourced ingredients. An area of Bournemouth called Charminster has lots of good small independent restaurants with cuisines from all around the world.
If you feel more comfortable with what you know – there are plenty of chain restaurants in Bournemouth including Wagamama, Pizza Express, ASK, Chimichanga, Yo Sushi and many more.
There are the usuals including Domino’s but Centro Pizza in Bournemouth does a cracking 12-inch pizza for £10 and offers a lot of deals too. You can always use the takeaway apps available online to see what’s available locally if you want a quiet night in.
