eduroam wireless network

The eduroam wireless network enables BU students, staff and researchers to connect to the internet when visiting other participating institutions around the world, including university libraries and research centres.

SCONUL Access

You may be able to access other libraries in the UK and Ireland through a scheme called SCONUL Access.

British Library

The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom. Its Reading Rooms and its vast collections covering all disciplines are available to individuals doing research.

To use the Reading Rooms and view any of the collections, you will first need to apply to the British Library for a Reader Pass. Full details, including video guides, are available on the British Library's website.

University of London: Senate House Library

Free annual reference membership to the Senate House Library (and in some cases a borrowing allowance) is offered to current UK academic staff and postgraduate research students.

The Library contains over two million books, 20 thousand journals, rare books, archives and manuscripts.

Photographic ID and proof of current address are needed for membership application.

You can also search the University of London Library's (Senate House) Catalogue before you arrive to see if they have the material you are looking for.

The Arts University at Bournemouth

Full-time students and staff of Bournemouth University may apply to join the Library of the Arts University Bournemouth. You should take your current University ID Card as proof of identity.

BU part-time students wishing to borrow from the Arts University Bournemouth Library should apply through the SCONUL Access scheme. Speak to BU Library staff at the Library Help Zone for details on registering.

Bournemouth and Poole College

To join Bournemouth and Poole College Library and borrow material, BU students should take their current University ID card as proof of identity. More information on library resources and services at Bournemouth and Poole College.
