The Faculty of Media and Communication is seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to undertake a significant role in the review and evaluation of the societal and economic impact of our research. Based in the Faculty of Media and Communication this is an opportunity for a competent researcher to undertake work to understand the impact of our research in the area of education.
You will work with staff in the Faculty and the Research and Knowledge Exchange Office to plan and deliver the investigation, evaluation and demonstration of the impact of our research. Our key areas of research impact include:
Reflection and its relationship with learning
You will contribute to Bournemouth University’s reputation as a leading centre for media practice and media education. You will be responsible for building upon previous and current activities to identify, plan and develop the focus for future activities, and support us to define and develop a body of practice that we could disseminate more widely. You will take a leading role in the dissemination of research findings and will establish and support innovative forms of public engagement. You will also be responsible for maintaining an up to date and responsive awareness of the requirements of the next Research Excellence Framework.
You will have demonstrable research experience in education, qualitative and quantitative research methods, and policy analysis, and need to be self-motivated and able to work using your own initiative as well as in a team. You will need highly developed communication skills and be able to work under pressure, devising research impact strategies and monitoring their effectiveness.
The post is available on a 24-month fixed term contract basis.
