A number of services will have reduced opening hours/service over the spring break which runs from 26 March – 13 April 2018.
The majority of university services will also be closed for the Easter weekend bank holidays from 30 March - 2 April 2018, except for the Open Access computer centres in Poole House (Talbot Campus) and Studland House (Lansdowne Campus) which are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Opening hours for core BU services are below:
There will be a reduced UNIBUS service from Monday 26 March as below, with normal services beginning again on Monday 16 April.
- The U1 will operate a 30 minute circular route
- The U3 will operate a peak hours only service
- The U2, U4 and U5 buses will not be running, but staff and students will still be able to use their UNIBUS Key Cards on all more bus network zone A services, which include - M1, M2, 13, 14, 15, and 17.
The UNIBUS service will not operate on the bank holidays – Friday 30 March & Monday 2 April. Check out the full bus timetables in iBU or visit the UNIBUS website.
Yellow Buses’ have announced a major revision to their bus services from 8 April 2018 - and you can view a full summary of the network changes on this Yellow Bus leaflet. For further information please use the Yellow Bus website. Highlights of the key changes are:
- The current U6 service will be changing to the 6 service.
- The current U9 and U10 services will changing to the 8 service.

Both libraries will be open during the spring break, but closed for the Easter weekend bank holiday (30 March - 2 April 2018) - check online for full library opening hours.
To help you study from home during this time, remember you can access e-journals and e-books off-campus throughout the break as usual. If you've already borrowed library books, or are planning to, make sure you check out the library's information about borrowing during vacations.
AskBU will be open during the spring break, at reduced hours as below, but closed for the Easter weekend bank holiday (30 March - 2 April 2018). Opening hours at Poole House (Talbot Campus) and Bournemouth House (Lansdowne Campus) are:
- Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 8:30am - 5pm
- Wednesday: 8:30am - 2pm and 3:30-5pm
- Friday: 8:30am - 4:30pm
Careers & Employability
The Careers & Employability service will be open and available in the Careers Centre as usual over the spring break, but closed for the Easter weekend bank holiday (30 March - 2 April 2018). You can also book for careers advisor appointments via phone and skype as well as search for jobs, resources and advice on MyCareerHub.
Open access centres
These facilities will remain open 24 hours, 7 days per week as usual, in Poole House and Studland House.
The main office will be open as usual during the spring break but closed over Easter weekend bank holiday (30 March - 2 April 2018). All halls of residence will have a member of staff available 24/7 over the period and/or an emergency telephone number for you to contact a member of staff. If you are unsure what this is please speak with your local accommodation team.
If you're living in Unilet accommodation, you should continue to use your usual out of hours support and call the main Poole House reception number (01202 524111) for emergencies.
If you’re living in private accommodation, including a property arranged through LettingsBU, you should have an out of hours numbers to call, so contact your landlord or agent direct if you haven’t or are unsure.
The team will be available in Talbot House (Talbot Campus) throughout the spring break every Tuesday from 1 - 5pm and every Thursday from 1-5pm. Visit the Student Wellbeing pages for opening hours and for out of hours advice and guidance.
The Chaplaincy in Talbot House will be open throughout the holidays from 8am - 9pm, Monday - Friday.
During the break the team are open for enquiries Monday - Friday, 10am - 4pm in the Student Centre (SC202). They also offer drop-in sessions in SC202 from Monday - Friday, 2-4pm and appointments are available at Lansdowne - find out more on the SUBU Advice webpages, including recommendations for out of hours support.
University Music and music facilities
University Music ensembles and tuition will finish on Friday 23 March and resume on Monday 16 April.
Practice rooms at Talbot House will be open as normal over the break, but closed over the Easter weekend bank holiday (30 March - 2 April 2018). Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Cash Office – Poole House
The Cash Office in Poole House will be open from 8.30am - 4pm, Monday - Friday, but closed for the Easter weekend bank holiday (30 March - 2 April 2018).

SportBU facilities will be open during the spring break, as per the hours listed below but closed for the Easter weekend bank holiday (30 March - 2 April 2018). Opening hours are:
