Honorary doctorates were awarded to 12 people across the week, including Jeff Mostyn, the Chairman of AFC Bournemouth.
He said: “The local community is really dear to us and I am truly honoured to be part of such a special day.”
Jeff’s honorary doctorate was also featured by Vital Football, Wave 105 and Heart Hampshire.
Other honorary doctorates were awarded to Paralympic tennis star Lucy Shuker, Kate Kinninmont MBE, and Unison’s head of nursing and professional services Gail Adams OBE, who was featured in Nursing Times.
Award-winning broadcast journalist Allan Little was also awarded an honorary doctorate and gave a speech during one of the ceremonies, which was partly featured in the Bournemouth Echo.
He said: “Never grow cynical of the idea of the autonomous mind – no matter how old you get.
“Never give up the idealism of your youth and the idea that your generation will make the world a better place.”
Over 3,000 students from over 100 countries graduated during the seven ceremonies that took place across four days.
