The NHS Newborn & Infant Physical Examination Programme (NIPE) was established by the UK National Screening Committee (now Public Health England) to promote improvements and consistency in the newborn and infant physical examinations. The NIPE Programme achieves this in the main, through training, education and the development of national programme standards.
The screening programme focuses on the following 4 main issues:
Improve the detection and management of congenital heart disease
Reduce the need for surgical intervention for developmental dysplasia of the hip
Enable early treatment for congenital eye conditions
Ensure early detection and management of undescended testes.
As a key part of ‘Your Career Week’, the BU Annual Careers Fair is an ideal way for students to meet employers (local, national and international) in a relaxed and familiar environment, with staff on hand to help.
