Tap into students’ potential

Student collaboration and the Student Project Bank

Our students are integral to our knowledge exchange (KE) initiatives and engagement with businesses. A key part of this is our Student Project Bank (SPB), based on the successful Dutch model of a Science Shop, while our Global Talent Programme aims to further students’ prospects through collaboration with industry.

Tackling your projects

Through the SPB initiative, you can ‘deposit’ real problems for students to work on, under the guidance of an experienced BU academic as part of the student’s degree. The projects must have the potential to benefit an individual, a community, or society through research, service improvement or a creative project.

This gives students the opportunity to tackle your project briefs while using their research and learning to make a real-world impact – embodying BU’s fusion strategy by creating a symbiotic relationship between excellent education, professional practice and societal enrichment.

The SPB is available to community organisations, charities, not-for-profit organisations and corporate partners – and taking part is free.

If you have a suitable project, you can find out more and submit a proposal via our SPB for external organisations page, or contact us at business@bournemouth.ac.uk or on +44 (0)1202 961916.

Enriching our region with global talent

We also invite businesses to get involved with our Global Talent Programme (GTP). Developed in collaboration with employers, this scheme helps to identify and develop students to succeed as graduates in today’s (and tomorrow’s) highly competitive global workplace.
