At Bournemouth University we have created a range of services to connect local, national and international employers with our graduates, graduands and students.
We can help you raise your profile on campus and online among our student population of approximately 18,000. This includes the chance to promote your employment and professional development opportunities via our free jobs portal, and opportunities to exhibit at our numerous careers fairs and employability-focused workshops.
An overview of these services is provided below, and naturally we would love to hear ideas for how we can collaborate with you to enrich your business.
Online jobs portal
MyCareerHub is our free online platform where you can advertise your vacancies (including placements, graduate level roles, part-time work and internships) and recruitment events to our students and recent graduates.
In 2017, there were 5,734 jobs added, which were viewed over 224,000 times.
Once uploaded we can promote opportunities further on social media, via academics and through our Alumni Relations team or the Students’ Union.
To find out more and upload your job description please visit MyCareerHub.
We are extremely proud to offer undergraduate students at BU the opportunity to undertake a work placement as part of their degree, and as of 2017 we are in the top three universities in Great Britain for the most undergraduate students on work placements.
Students can bring specialist knowledge and a fresh perspective to your business, and our Placement Coordinators work closely with employers, academics and students to ensure all parties make the most of this opportunity.
Further information and the contact details of placement specialists can be found on MyCareerHub.
Recruitment fairs and on-campus activity
Our Careers and Employability Service organises numerous careers fairs throughout the year to ensure our students and graduates have every opportunity to meet employers on campus.
These include the BU Annual Careers Fair, a Nursing Fair, several Part-time/seasonal Jobs Fairs, and a Uniformed Services Fair.
Visit MyCareerHub to find out more about careers fairs, or check our events section to see the wide range of activities organised by Careers staff, academics and students for employers, BU partners and members of the public. The Global Talent Programme, Festival of Learning, Festival of Enterprise, the Students’ Union Volunteering Fairs and numerous employer/careers workshops are among hundreds of events you could attend, co-create or sponsor.
