We are happy to come to your school, college or academy to talk to you and your students about various aspects of Higher Education (HE). We understand that it’s a big decision for young people to make about their future and we want to give them as much information and assistance as possible to help them choose the right path for them.
While we will help any teachers to inspire their students to consider university, we focus a significant amount of our outreach activity on students from under-represented groups in HE. This includes young people living in low participation neighbourhoods, students from low socio-economic backgrounds, young people in care and students with special educational needs
This Fair Access programme is designed for schools and colleges where there are above-average numbers of students from disadvantaged groups. However, we are happy to assess a group from a non-target school to determine what support we can offer.
Our activities can focus on a variety of aspects of HE, depending on the age of the students we’re talking to. We tailor each session to suit you and your learners, covering everything from HE in general and student life, to writing personal statements for UCAS applications, fees and funding, and BU and our courses.
