Graham was appointed Director of Finance and Performance in September 2013. In this role, he is responsible for the financial management and financial performance of the university, providing strategic and operational direction to ensure the effective utilisation of financial resources. He also has overall responsibility for procurement.
His career initially involved working as a finance director for UK businesses and multi-million dollar US corporations. In 2004, he transferred into the education sector where he has since gained ten years of experience directing the financial strategy and, where necessary, the financial restructuring of a number of further and higher education institutions.
Graham has consolidated his experience in higher education through his leadership of a consultancy business, providing analysis of the financial performance of universities. He utilised his experience gained in the private sector to bring commercial foresight to organisations within the public sector.
Graham is a graduate of Manchester University; a Fellow Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has a postgraduate qualification in education from Huddersfield University.
